dreams.

Phase 1: Preliminary Planning & Pricing
-
Schedule
an appointment in our showroom with one of our designers to discuss
your preference in style, specific needs, and wish list for your new
kitchen.
-
If you have
plans, bring them in or transmit to us via email (send to plans@cooperpacific.com).
If not, a pencil sketch of your space will usually suffice. Show approximate
size of room, door and window locations, and ceiling height.
-
Images of
your space, either print or digital are very helpful.
-
Following
your visit to our showroom, we often schedule a time in your home
to confirm measurements and other details.
-
An estimate
will be prepared based on these initial discussions. This estimate
will give you a price range. Detail and design options will affect
most estimates; please advise us if you wish them included in your
project. The final price may vary as we discuss your project in further
detail. It will be based on the style of cabinetry you have chosen,
the finish and internal accessories.
Phase 2: Conceptual Design Development
-
To proceed
into creative design and space planning work, Cooper-Pacific Kitchens
requires the completion of a Design Agreement amounting to approximately
10% of the initial estimate. This amount is fully applied to your
purchase of cabinetry.
-
In the Design
Development phase we work with you to investigate different layouts,
review finish and hardware options in detail, and make certain that
each of the cabinets is placed and equipped exactly as you want it.
We will show you the latest storage innovations, and incorporate those
that you desire. We work through all of the factors to enable you
to make choices that best suit your needs.
-
Site visits
may also occur at this stage depending on the specifics of your project.
We prefer to measure your space and review the mechanical locations.
If it is neither feasible nor possible to measure the space, we will
use architect’s specifications to arrive at an accurate layout
and design.
-
We also work
with you to select appliances. We have many of the latest models on
display, and can help you choose the proper appliance for your needs
and lifestyle. Appliance specifications are submitted with the kitchen
order so that appropriate cabinets and panels will match.
-
To arrive
at the most accurate estimate for your project, we will need some
time to discuss style, finish options, accessories, and level of detail
desired. We can include a standard accessory package which includes
many typically requested features including roll-out shelves, cutlery
and tray dividers, spice storage, etc. We will produce design options
for your space based on your needs and preferred styles.
-
Detailed floor
plans, elevations and pricing will be presented to you once a final
concept has been chosen.
Phase 3: Production of cabinetry
-
When the
final price and plans are approved, we will enter into a Purchase
Agreement for production of your order. The Design Fee paid will apply
towards the purchase of the cabinetry order. A fifty percent deposit
is required to place your cabinetry order into production. Site measurements
are often re-confirmed at this time. Your plans will then be reviewed
by a project manager and processed for production. Depending on the
specific nature of your project, a mechanical / electrical plan may
be created for your space as well.
-
Once the
order is placed into production with the manufacturer, changes are
no longer possible as the factory immediately requisitions and cuts
the material.
-
Once production
is complete, we will deliver the finished cabinetry to your home.
-
Cooper-Pacific
Kitchens is a licensed contractor in the state of California (License
#690111), and has experienced cabinetry installers on staff. If you
choose, we will contract for the installation of the cabinetry, which
provides a “turn key” package for you.
-
We are one
of the few kitchen design firms that provide this service to you.
If you select us to install, it becomes our responsibility to ensure
that the design we have created is properly installed and fits your
space as intended. Many other retail firms simply deliver the cabinets
to your site, and offer you a list of recommended installers. The
responsibility is then shifted to you for the installation and completion
of the project. We want the kitchen installed properly by experienced
tradesman, and we believe that you want a firm to be responsible from
design through installation.
-
Your installation
price is based on the final plan selected, but generally costs 17-20%
of the price of your cabinetry. Customized design features may cause
this range to vary.
-
We will coordinate
our installation with either you or your contractor, to provide the
smoothest and quickest completion of your new kitchen. The installation
is completed in phases. There will be periods of time that we are
unable to work on your project since we are waiting for other trades
to complete their work (plumbing, electrical, counters, flooring,
etc.).
-
We highly
recommend that cabinetry installation should be among the last phases
of work that occurs during new construction because it arrives to
the site in a finished condition. All windows and doors should be
in place and the flooring should be completed. We always recommend
that cabinetry be installed in a climate-controlled environment –
protected from weather and other elements of your construction site.
